Time Ship (Book One): A Time Travel Romantic Adventure: The ideal Beach Book for reading on Holiday! Time Ship (Book One): A Time Travel Romantic Adventure: The ideal Beach Book for reading on Holiday! by Ian C.P. Irvine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As the author Ian C.P.Irvine has mentioned this book as an ideal book for reading on holiday, it is true. I greatly enjoyed this book. And I am expecting to read the second part.

The story:
Professor Derek Martin finds out that when two storms collide their electrodynamic energy can create an unstable singularity in space and he names it as Hunraken Vortex. Professor Derek
works for Bush Center for Geo-Electromagnetic studies. The research was funded by US. Same time four hurricanes Josephine, Kyle, Isaias and Hanna were formed and a plane Stormchaser 3 is sent to capture the visuals for their support of Hunraken Vortex. The researchers get their proof of vortex formation but the Stormchaser 3 along with 11 members disappear into the vortex they were taken into 17th century.

The year 1699, Captain Rob McGregor and his ship The Sea Dancer with its rich treasure has narrowly escapes from the hurricane and unknown to them they time travelled to present day Puerto Rico. The ship is running out of provisions, drinking water and some of his crew were infected with fever.

So they plan to anchor near the island and steal food and water. But they cannot fathom the 21st century technologies. The island is a sea resort, Captain McGregor's men takes everybody in the island as hostages and finally Captain reaches the island and understands that they have time travelled. The resort Manager Sally informs the police by activating the alarm. The doctor in resort visits the ship and finds out that the fever is bubonic and pneumonic plague and might wipe out the human race if the outbreak is not stopped.

The story ends in a cliff hanger, as mentioned earlier this story is a page turner has lots of humour when the ship crew lands into the resort. The author has narrated beautifully the escape of Sea Dancer and Stormchaser 3. In 17th century they appear to be heroes but when they were in 21st century baffled by the technologies they look like complete fools. Below I will give the point of view of the crew when they look at the sea resort for the first time.

"The boxes were closed with a strange form of glowing glass. He would have to break the glass to let James and the others out. Raising his pistol one more time, he smashed the glass with the butt of the handle.

There was a loud bang, and the box went immediately black. Smoke came out from within, and suddenly the images of James Silver and Paddy and the others were gone."

The above lines is thoughts of Tyler who watches the CCTV image showing his friends and crew members trapped in the Sea resort.
